Asbestos-Related Pleural Abnormalities
Four types of abnormalities:
- Pleural plaques
- Benign asbestos pleural effusions
- Diffuse pleural thickening
- Rounded atelectasis
Mostly asymptomatic, though some
can cause dyspnea or cough
Latency periods: 10-30 years
(shorter latency is for pleural effusion)
